Drive Up, Drive Off: Bellevue Food Drive Underway

Dec 2, 2021 | Blog, Featured

The annual food drive for the Bellevue Community Food Bank is underway.

Four drop-off points throughout Bellevue are accepting donations daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through December 3. Those locations are Ford Ice Center and Benchmark Realty at One Bellevue Place, Brookdale Belle Meade at 6767 Brookmont Terrace and Doggie Doo’s Nashville at 8171 Highway 100.

The drive culminates with a “Drive Up, Drop Off” from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 4 at Bellevue United Methodist Church, 7501 Old Harding Road.

This year there is a strong demand for holiday items such as cranberry sauce, graham cracker pie crusts, pie filling, canned pumpkin, candied yams, marshmallows, gravy, stuffing and Kroger or Publix gift cards for the purchase of hams.

The Food Bank is also looking to replenish its supply of daily items such as mayonnaise, jelly, grits, toaster pastries, crackers, corned beef has, spam, beef stew, canned white potatoes, frosting, syrup, cooking oil, broth, and personal hygiene items such as body lotion and wash, mouthwash, shampoo, hand sanitizer, dish soap, laundry soap and individually packaged paper towels.

Due to surplus the following items are not being accepted: macaroni and cheese, tuna, canned chicken, cereal, soup, peanut butter, beans, pasta, pasta sauce, canned corn and canned green beans.

Local civic groups including Arts Bellevue, BELL Garden, Bellevue Community Foundation, Bellevue Harpeth Chamber of Commerce, Bellevue Harpeth Historic Association and Exchange Club of Bellevue are facilitating this year’s drive.
