The Nashville Christian Eagles lost their third straight game to open the season, as Fayette Academy left Nashville with a 27-7 victory. The Eagles offense struggled once again, only putting up 177 total yards of offense and just seven points.
Fayette Academy got the scoring going early, as Reid Holland rushed the ball in from four yards out to put them up 7-0 early. Neither team scored again until the 2nd quarter, when Fayette Academy’s quarterback Rube Scott completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Parks. Scott then rushed it in from 31 yards to put them up 21-0.
The Eagles finally got on the board when Josh Strickland rushed it in from four yards out to cut the deficit to 14. That was all the Eagles got though, as Fayette Academy got on the board again, when Scott completed a 26-yard pass to Trey Powers to put them up 27-7.
Fayette Academy’s offense was on fire last Friday night, as they compiled 512 yards. Scott passed for 149 yards and two touchdowns on 8-18 passing. They rushed for 363 yards, with Scott leading the way with 136 yards and a touchdown.
For the Eagles, Strickland led the way rushing, finishing with 15 rushes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Jesse Parrish led the Eagles with a total of nine tackles. Garrett Collins finished with eight tackles, and Adam Young had six tackles. Zach Young, Devon Clarke, Zach Clarke, Sam Wilson, and Hayden Jarrell all finished with five tackles.
